The exterior of the Nitro 5 has subtle changes for 2021: the grills on the sides of the lid are gone and it's pretty clean, with only two lines running across the top; the red curtain is replaced by a black one with only red "Nitro" lettering; and the red border on the trackpad is gone. On the left side of the notebook there is an Ethernet port, two USB 3.2 Type-A, an audio jack, a Kensington Lock and an air outlet. Similarly, the right side has HDMI, USB Type-A, USB Type-C and an air outlet. Unlike the previous side-powered version, the new Nitro 5 has its power connector on the back between the grills. The keyboard is the same as before with a dedicated numeric keypad on the right side as well as speakers on the bottom. The keyboard can be configured for four-zone RGB lighting.

The 2021 Nitro 5 comes with a 15.6-inch Full HD IPS display (1920 x 1080 pixels) in Nepal that has a 144Hz refresh rate, but is also available in a pristine QHD display panel with a 165Hz refresh rate. . The QHD panel is a major improvement over its predecessor, featuring more accurate colors and a vibrant display, with the only drawback being brightness.
