HH Bajaj, the authorized distributor of Bajaj two-wheelers in Nepal, is all set to launch a new model Pulsar – P150 in the Nepali market. The new Pulsar P150 will be the successor to the Pulsar 150 and unlike other Pulsar models, it will have a new design, powertrain and chassis. The bike will be offered in two variants: Single-disc (with one seat) and Twin-disc (with split seats). The company will soon open for bookings and will announce its prices at the same time.

Design

The new Pulsar P150 will have a sportier, sharper and lighter design. The bike will come with notable design features like bi-functional LED projector headlamp, small insect net, muscular tank, underbelly exhaust and crystal LED tail lamp. Similarly, depending on the variants, the single-disc models of the Pulsar P150 will come with a single-disc seat and single grab bar, while the dual-disc models will have a split seat and split handles. Additionally, the bike will be offered in five different colors: Racing Red, Caribbean Blue, Ebony Black Red, Ebony Black Blue and Ebony Black White.

The naked bike is equipped with infinity's signature semi-digital instrument cluster, in which the analog section is for the tachometer and the digital section displays information such as motorcycle speed, gear engaged, fuel consumption and DTE, among others. Other notable features are LED units, 14-litre fuel tank capacity, single-channel ABS and a USB charging port.

Powertrain

Powering the new Pulsar P150 is a new 149.68cc four-stroke two-valve single-cylinder air-cooled engine. The bike produces a peak power of 14 bhp at 8500 rpm and a maximum torque of 13.5 Nm at 6000 rpm. For transmission, the engine is mated to a five-speed constant-gear transmission. The company further claims that 90% of the torque is available throughout the rev range, and a 10kg reduction in bike weight results in an 11% increase in power-to-weight ratio.

Chassis

The Pulsar P150 will come with a new chassis that makes the bike 10 kg lighter than its predecessors. The bike's suspension is taken care of by telescopic forks on the front and a mono-shock absorber with adjustable preload on the rear. For braking, the Twin-disc variants of the bike will get a disc brake at both ends, while the Single-disc models will get a disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear. Braking will also be supplemented with single-channel ABS.
