BYD has introduced a new electric car – the ATTO 3 – in India. Based on BYD's all-new 3.0 e-platform, the ATTO 3 is the company's second model in the country alongside the all-new E6. The new electric SUV is offered in a single variant that is powered by a 60.48 kWh battery pack and provides an ARAI-certified range of 521 km.

Design

The design of the new ATTO 3 is based on the company's own Dragon Face 3.0 design language. The EV is aerodynamically designed and its front fascia features a sleek bumper with a wide chrome strip in the middle – which is further extended to slim LED headlamps with DRLs. At the rear, the car is equipped with split LED taillights; the taillights are connected by a horizontal light bar. And just below the rear windshield, the EV has "Build Your Dreams" written on it. In addition, the car is available in five color variants: Climbing grey, Hiking green, Parkour red, Skiing white and Surfing blue.

The interior of the EV is offered in two color options: Eclipse blue and Hazy gray. The seats are upholstered in leather and the rear seats are split 60/40, which expands the luggage space to 1340 litres. On the dashboard is a steering wheel with mounted control buttons (for audio, phone and AC) and behind it is a 5-inch digital instrument console that displays the speedometer and tachometer dials. In the middle is a 12.8-inch rotating touchscreen infotainment system that is compatible with both Apple Carplay and Android Auto.

Powertrain

The Atto 3 is powered by a 60.48 kWh BYD Blade Battery. The battery is paired with a PMSM (Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) that generates a maximum power of 150 kW and a maximum torque of 310 Nm. The EV will charge from 0-80% in 50 minutes using the 80kW DC fast charger and the 7kW AC charger will fully charge the SUV in around 9.5-10 hours. When fully charged, the ATTO 3 provides an ARAI-certified range of 521 km.

Other functions:

The EV comes with a host of practical features such as wireless phone charger, electrically adjustable ORVM, one-touch tailgate open/close, built-in USB charger, keyless entry and start, and a portable card key, among others.

In terms of safety, the car is equipped with seven SRS airbags and anchor points for ISOFIX child restraint systems. The car will also get an automatic emergency braking system with front and rear warning.

BYD ATTO 3 Price in India

BYD will soon launch the ATTO 3 in India to compete with other electric SUVs like the MG ZS EV and the Hyundai Kona EV. There is no official news about ATTO 3 pricing yet, but fans can expect it to cost around INR 30k.
