The HJ 250 offers an overall improved package compared to its predecessor, the GR7, in terms of its aesthetics, premium feel, performance, braking, suspension and much more. On the exterior, the bike features an orange, white and black color combination. Some orange finished parts (referred to as CNS parts) such as front suspension cover, magneto cover, shifter, chain cover, swingarm cover, clutch kit etc. can be imported separately from the Crossfire showroom. The setting of all LED headlights, taillights and side turn signals is striking. The bike is equipped with the same digital instrument display as its predecessor. Also, the SZC shock tube is the same as its predecessor, in a recessed position, which helps protect the rider from possible burns. The bike has an adjustable clutch lever with a soft touch and instant response to prevent breakage.
The HJ 250 is equipped with a 249.6 cc liquid-cooled compact engine that generates a maximum power of 30.15 PS at 9000 rpm and a maximum torque of 22.5 Nm at 7000 rpm. The engine is mated to an optional 6-speed gearbox. The compression ratio of the motorcycle is 11:6:1 and the displacement is 249.6 cc.
The bike is offered in two variants: Dirt and Motard. The only difference between the two variants is the tires. The Crossfire HJ 250 Dirt uses mud tires and the Crossfire HJ 250 Motard uses road tires. The dimensions of the HJ 250 measure 2320 mm in length, 1300 mm in height and 830 mm in width. Seat height can be lowered by half an inch. However, this shortens the suspension, which can lead to the buyer voiding the bike's warranty.
The front suspension uses a telescopic hub type, compression rebound that has 12.2 inches of travel. Meanwhile, the rear suspension includes CNC linkage and spring preload with fully adjustable compression rebound that have 11.81 inches of travel. The compression adjustability is designed to provide excellent damping performance in all types of terrain.
The HJ 250 has a dry weight of 109 kg, which is much lighter than other dirt bikes; thanks to the low weight of the HJ 250, it is extremely manoeuvrable. The wheelbase is 1500mm and the ground clearance is 330mm, which is pretty decent for a dirt bike. The motorcycle's fuel volume is 10 liters. Ignition options are offered as electric and kick.
