Ford has launched the new generation Ranger in Nepal. The new double-cab pickup truck is offered in three variants: XL, XLT and Wildtrak – at a starting price of Rs 1.05 lakh. The new generation Ranger comes with minor design tweaks and new safety features; and is offered in two engine configurations: a 2.0-liter single-turbo diesel and a 2.0-liter twin-turbo diesel.

Design:

The Ranger's front fascia features a new open grille with the brand logo in the center; the radiator grille further extends to matrix headlights with C-shaped LED DRLs. At the rear, the pickup has LED taillights and the brand logo in the middle.

The Ranger's cabin comes with premium trim and ambient lighting. The seats are upholstered in leather; and between the seats, the front seats are adjustable in four directions. The dashboard features a leather-wrapped steering wheel with buttons for audio controls and a 10.1-inch or 12-inch infotainment system (compatible with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto), depending on variants.

The new generation Ranger comes with notable features like wireless charger, eight-inch color instrument console, bluetooth connectivity (with SYNC 4 system), FordPass Connect, remote control, power windows, USB ports, rear and front parking sensors, airbags, ABS. with EBD, ESP with Traction Control System, Hill Descent Control and ISOFIX, among others.

Powertrain

The new Ranger comes in two diesel engine configurations: a 2.0-liter single-turbo and a 2.0-liter bi-turbo.

The single-turbo engine generates a maximum power of 168 hp at 3500 rpm and a maximum torque of 405 Nm at 1750-2000 rpm. The engine is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.

And the twin-turbo diesel engine generates a maximum power of 207 hp at 3750 rpm and a maximum torque of 500 Nm at 1750-2000 rpm. The engine is connected to a ten-speed automatic transmission.
