Honda Motorcycles & Scooters India (HMSI) has launched a new variant in the Activa range – the H-Smart. The Activa H-Smart comes with premium features that include a new smart key that offers features like Smart Find, Smart Unlock, Smart Start and Smart Safe. The new scooter comes at an introductory price of INR 80,537.

Speaking on the occasion, Atsushi Ogata, MD, President and CEO, HMSI said, “Activa has re-energized the scooter market and has remained one of the best-selling two-wheelers for over a decade. It has gone through several avatars to meet the ever-changing expectations of our customers, and today we are introducing the new OBD2-compatible Activa 2023 with a host of segment-first features that offer enhanced value to customers.

Design and features

The new H-Smart comes with the same design as other Activa models and is offered in six different colours: Decent Blue Metallic, Pearl Siren Blue, Black, Pearl Precious White, Rebel Red Metallic and Mat Axis Gray Metallic.

The H-Smart is equipped with a new smart key that offers keyless operations and new features such as Smart Safe – shuts down the scooter when the key exceeds a range of 2 meters; Smart Search - Searches for scooters by flashing all four direction indicators twice at the push of a button within 10 meters; Smart Unlock – unlocks the fuel tank cap, seat and handlebars; and Smart Start – turns on the scooter without using a physical key. Other notable features are LED units, a 5.3 liter fuel tank and 12-inch alloy wheels.

Engine

The H-Smart has the same engine specifications as its predecessors. The scooter is powered by a 109cc four-stroke petrol engine that is capable of generating a peak power of 8bhp at 8000rpm and a peak torque of 8.90Nm at 5500rpm. In addition, the scooter is equipped with a new tire compound technology that increases its fuel efficiency.
