Jeep India has launched its flagship model – the all-new 2022 Grand Cherokee – in India. The new Grand Cherokee, the fourth in the line, will be manufactured in India along with other Jeep models. The fifth generation Grand Cherokee will come at INR 77.5 lakh.

Design and features

While the original silhouette of the Grand Cherokee remains, the SUV comes with new design changes, such as a new grille with Jeep's characteristic 7-groove pattern, elegant headlights and taillights, a robust stance. In terms of lighting, the Grand Cherokee comes with LED units, fog lamps and DRLs. In addition, the car comes with an increased ground clearance of 287 mm and a wading depth of 533 mm.

Inside, the SUV comes with a three-spoke steering wheel, a 10.1-inch digital instrument panel, leather-trimmed seats, eight-way adjustable front seats, a 10.25-inch screen for passengers and a 10-inch head-up display.

The 2022 Grand Cherokee is equipped with notable features such as Active Driving Assistance System (ADAS), 360-degree camera, drowsy driver detection, wireless charging, 20-inch two-tone alloy wheels, panoramic sunroof, terrain selection system, adaptive cruise control, eight airbags and advanced braking assistant, among others.

Powertrain

The 2022 Grand Cherokee is powered by a 2-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine. The engine generates a peak power of 268 horsepower and a maximum torque of 400 Nm. And for the transmission, the engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic. Furthermore, the car is offered in five driving modes: Auto, Sport, Rock, Snow, Mud/Sand.
