CG MotoCorp, the authorized distributor of Maruti Suzuki cars in Nepal, is gearing up to launch its new flagship SUV – the Grand Vitara – in the Nepalese market. The Grand Vitara is based on the global C platform and is the company's first model produced in the Suzuki-Toyota partnership. The new SUV is likely to be offered with two petrol engines: the Suzuki-developed Smart Hybrid and the Toyota-based Intelligent Electric Hybrid (IEH).
The front fascia of the Grand Vitara features a wide grille with piano black inserts and a prominent chrome strip with a centrally recessed Suzuki badge, while at the rear are the signature NEXTre' taillights. In addition, the SUV stands on 17-inch alloy wheels and can be offered in single-tone and two-tone variants.
Inside, the SUV comes with either a two-tone interior with silver accents or an all-black interior with champagne gold accents, depending on the model. The dashboard features a tilt and telescoping steering wheel with mounted control buttons, either a 4.2-inch TFT display or a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, depending on the variant, and a 9-inch SmartPlay Pro+ infotainment system that is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The Grand Vitara is expected to come with notable features like six airbags, 360-view camera, reverse parking camera, ESP, vehicle stability control, hill/descent control, rear parking sensors, panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, keyless entry , start/stop button and automatic climate control with rear air conditioning vents, among others.
The Grand Vitara is expected to be offered with two petrol engines: the Suzuki-developed Smart Hybrid and the Toyota-based Intelligent Electric Hybrid (IEH).
The Smart Hybrid engine is powered by a 1.5-liter K-series mild-hybrid engine that generates a peak power of 100 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and a peak torque of 135 Nm at 4,000 rpm. For the transmission, the engine is mated to either a five-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission.
The Intelligent Electric Hybrid is powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine which is mated to a 59kW engine. The petrol engine alone can develop 91 horsepower and 122 Nm of torque; and the SUV can generate a combined 115 horsepower.

The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara comes in six trims at a starting price of INR 10.45 lakh and goes up to INR 19.49 lakh in India. Although there is no official news about its price yet, fans can expect it to cost around Rs 80 crore.
