Ola has launched its new entry-level electric scooter – the S1 Air – in India. The S1 Air comes with an IP67 rated 2.5kWh battery that gives an ARAI range of 101km. The e-scooter is Ola's latest addition to the range, including the S1 and S1 Pro models. The S1 Air comes at an introductory price of INR 79,999.

Design

The S1 Air has the same simple and fluid design as its predecessors. The front panel of the e-scooter includes two projector headlights with DRLs and elegant LED turn signals. At the back, the scooter has LED taillights and a handle. The S1 Air comes with a flat seat and 34 liters of boot storage. Furthermore, the scooter is offered in five colors: Coral Glam, Neo Mint, Porcelain White, Jet Black and Liquid Silver.

The electric scooter is equipped with a massive TFT touch screen and 3GB of RAM, an octa-core processor, WiFi, 4G connectivity, geo-fencing and Bluetooth functions. Other notable features of the e-scooter are side stand alert, electric start, reverse mode, electronic steering lock, riding modes (Eco, Sport, Normal), hill-hold function, OTA updates and remote trunk locking/unlocking, among others.

Powertrain

The S1 Air is equipped with a 2.5 kWh battery (IP67) and a hub motor that generates a peak power of 4.5 kW. When charging, the e-scooter is fully charged in 4.5 hours and the scooter provides a range of 101 km on a single charge – according to ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India). In addition, the scooter can accelerate up to 85 km/h and accelerate from 0-40 km/h in 4.3 seconds.
