Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, the luxury car brand, has unveiled the brand's first all-electric motorcar – the Spectre. Built on the all-aluminum Architecture of Luxury, the Specter will be the successor to the brand's Phantom Coupé.

Speaking on the occasion, Torsten Müller-Ötvös, CEO of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, said: “This is the beginning of a bold new chapter for our brand, our extraordinary clients and the luxury industry. For this reason, I believe that the Specter is the most perfect product that Rolls-Royce has ever produced.

The all-new Specter will be built on the architecture of luxury. The Architecture of Luxury is a new and highly flexible all-aluminum space frame architecture that underpins the company's other models such as the Phantom, Cullinan and Ghost. The Specter is likely to be quite large and heavy. The SUV measures 5450 mm in length and weighs 2975 kg (700 kg is for the battery compartment), which leads to an increase in the rigidity of the car and better dampening of road noise.

The front fascia of the Specter features split headlights; the upper part gets LED DRLS; while the lower section receives a main positioned beam - which is crossed by the brand's wide pantheon grille. And at the back, the EV is equipped with vertically shaped LED tail lamps. Furthermore, the car stands on 23-inch wheels. As for the interior, the Specter gets, among other things, Starlight headliners and doors (which feature more than 8,000 illuminated "stars"), a three-spoke steering wheel and newly designed seats with the brand's logo embedded in the headrest.

The Specter's powertrain isn't finalized yet, but preliminary figures suggest a 430kW powertrain with 900Nm of torque. The EV is expected to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds. And on a single charge, the Specter will provide a WLTP range of 520 km.

The company plans to launch and begin deliveries of the Specter in the fourth quarter of 2023. There is no official word on its price yet, however the company has already hinted that the starting price will fall between the Cullinan and Phantom models. So car enthusiasts can expect it to cost around $400,000.
