Italian automaker MV Agusta has announced the 2021 version of its popular F3 800 Rosso motorcycle. Originally introduced in 2012, the MV Agusta F3 range has been offered since 2013 with two different engine sizes: 675 and 800 cc.

The 2021 MV Agusta F3 Rosso comes with several technical updates that improve its usability and performance. The new version of the mid-weight exotic supersport bike is said to have the power to deliver maximum performance – thanks to the power of new engine components and new technology that enhance the pleasure of riding. The sporty and powerful character of MV Agusta continues to be one of the main attractions of supersport.

The main draw is the engine, with the F3 Rosso's mechanicals given a major update. The 2021 F3 800 Rosso gets a redesigned 798cc liquid-cooled inline-three engine – a heavily updated Euro 5-compliant engine. Additionally, the engine now has DLC-coated cylinder walls along with new valve guides to help reduce friction. Newly fitted bearings, connecting rods and countershafts are some of the other components that help reduce friction and further improve engine reliability; and Agusta kept the titanium valves. The two-way radiator is redesigned to better keep heat under control, and the new version offers 5 percent more thermal efficiency than the older version.

The engine is rated for a maximum power of 145 hp at 13,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 87 Nm at 10,100 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission that now features MV Agusta's third-generation Quick-Shift EAS 3.0 two-way quickshifter. The bike's slight drop in overall power and torque is mainly due to the changes Agusta made to meet the latest emissions standards. (The predecessor F3 Rosso generated a maximum power of 146 hp at 13,000 rpm and 88 Nm at 10,600 rpm).

The platform has also undergone major improvements. The 2021 model will be based on the new IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) platform. There are also several electronic updates: cornering ABS and lean-sensitive traction control, front lift control and a 5.5-inch TFT display. In addition, the TFT display supports Bluetooth technology and works with the MV Ride app. This feature is available for both iOS and Android users with the ability to record trips and share trip information on social media platforms. Plus, every aspect of the bike (including engine settings) can be customized directly from your smartphone. In addition to recording and sharing itineraries, the bike mirroring feature allows you to navigate with turn-by-turn directions. The super sports bike now also offers four riding modes and also offers the convenience of cruise control. Hardware on the bike includes premium Brembo calipers, a Marzocchi upside-down front fork, and Sachs mono-shock rear suspension.

While the mechanical and technical updates on the bike are easy to spot, the exterior hasn't changed much. Fortunately, the bike's design and style have been preserved - the F3 Rosso's gorgeous looks clearly don't need any further modifications. Exterior highlights include the same single-piece headlight, full-body design, triple exhaust canisters, integrated rear-view mirror indicators, split seats, single-sided swingarm and an overall design language that reinforces the MV Agusta's familiar character. The dominant red and black color on the engine, frame and wheels, for example, enhances the robust and aggressive appearance of the F3 Rosso. The Supersport weighs 173 kg (dry) and reaches a maximum speed of 240 km/h.

The F3 Rosso will compete with the Ducati Panigale V2 and Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R in the international market.
